High Definition (720p) picture quality with CCFL backlight
High Definition or HD technology creates incredible picture quality with around four times more pixels than Standard Definition images (typically used in television broadcasts), as well as utilising full digital surround sound and native widescreen formatting.
Recording in HD also offers clarity and quality superior to film but with the flexibility of digital video i.e. editing on a computer; durability; instant access to recordings; and far cheaper recording media. Most HD standards also include the ability to capture full digital surround sound (Dolby AC-3/Digital) and extra data such as content protection and program data.
